The African Community Council of Wellington (ACCW) has decided to cancel this year’s Africa Day celebrations to Saturday 9th May 2020.
This is as a result of the government’s directive on mass gathering following the recent outbreak of the Covid-19 virus in New Zealand.

Africa Day is a Cultural festival which is a fun and educational family day. There will be many performances and activities on offer including:
- Traditional and modern African music and performances from around the continent
- African Food Stalls
- Arts and Crafts
- Kids Activities
- Information and community stalls

This year the South African Tourism will be giving away two returns flight tickets to South Africa for an amazing 7 days holiday including a 2 day safari experience at one of South Africa’s premium Game Reserves. Raffle tickets will be available at the South African High Commission’s table.
